This month at McDermid we are learning about the Grandfather Teaching of Honesty.
HONESTY means telling the truth. Honesty is symbolized by the Sabe/giant. People who are honest are as big and strong as giants. Being honest is having the courage to do and say the right thing. We let truth be our guide. We learn to be honest with ourselves, and are truthful and trustworthy.
The Ojibwa expression “Kitchi-Sabe” means to walk tall, or to have integrity.
Honesty is important when we've done something wrong and need to admit it, or when we need help. We are doing teaching this month about various places from which we can access help, including resources like Kids Help Phone
