Hello McDermid Families!
As we come to the close of our week one of remote learning, we have a few McDermid specific pieces of information to share:
Easter break will run as previously scheduled, from April 2nd until April 11th.
We return to remote learning April 12th. Please continue to check your child’s learning platform (Seesaw or Google Classroom) for some instruction and activities for an extended remote learning time from April 12th – April 22nd.
Many classrooms will be preparing home packages for students for these two weeks of learning. Your child’s teacher will confirm this for you on April 12th. Packages will be assembled and available for pick up on Tuesday, April 13th between 10:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Staff will meet you at the front doors when you arrive. We ask families/students doing the pick-ups to continue to observe social distancing protocols and to wear masks.
FREE bag lunches will be available at the school on April 13th, 15th, 20th, and 22nd. Come to the front doors of the school from 11:30 – 12:30.
Remote learning is currently scheduled for 9 days covering April 12-16 and 19-22. The 23rd is a PD Day for staff so there will be no remote learning online support that day. Students are scheduled to return to in-person learning on Monday, April 26th.
We recognize this is a challenging time for many families. Our goal is to ensure we are as respectful as possible in balancing learning goals with the realities of family situations. Please let us know if there are additional ways in which we can provide support. When in doubt, we simply encourage our students to pick up a book and read. Administrative staff will be in the school during remote learning days if you need assistance.
